Exercising Tool

When the movement of the flow tube in a downhole safety valve is impeded due to a build up of scale or debris, the Exercising Tool is designed to grip and mechanically manipulate the flow tube in an effort to free it and return the valve to full functionality.

The Exercising Tool is available in two forms, designed to move the flow tube either upwards or downwards. When positioned in the safety valve, these tools use special full-radial-contact slips to engage and hold the flow tube before imparting mechanical forces to overcome whatever is restricting movement, without damaging the flow tube itself.
