Oriented Perforating Tool

If your objective is to perforate only a certain pre-planned part of the casing circumference, the Oriented Perforating Tool will allow you to select and control the direction in which the perforating guns are fired.

The Oriented Perforating Tool is intended to be run with Roller Bogie conveyance tools installed throughout the gun assembly to lift it on to high-efficiency rollers and eliminate contact friction with the casing. The integral swivels in the Roller Bogie tools allow the guns to be rotated freely.

Adaptable for use with most types and sizes of perforating gun, the Oriented Perforating Tool is made up of modular sections that combine to deliver high levels of torque to the gun assembly, using gravity-bias to turn turn the guns automatically to face the desired direction of fire. Run immediately below the perforating gun assembly, alignment is easily achieved using an indexing orientation system to select the required toolface.

Unlike certain other systems, the Oriented perforating Tool places no restriction on the size or type of shaped charge that can be used in the perforating guns being used.
